Most stones are diagnosed with an ultrasound or CT and simple tests. Small stones often pass with fluids, pain control and medical support; larger stones or a blockage may need a urologist procedure (such as laser/RIRS), which RIIMS helps coordinate and refer for. Just as important is prevention — Dr. Abhishek Gupta reviews your diet, fluids and metabolic factors to lower the risk of recurrence.
When to see a kidney doctor
Severe loin pain, fever with urinary symptoms, blood in urine, vomiting or reduced urine need prompt medical assessment. For recurrent stones, a prevention review is worthwhile.
